Uvita, is the fifth district in the Osa Canton, with a population of 3388 (INEC 2016), the majority of this population have an economic activity in the touristic service, provision of services and sale of products.

Bahía is describe by many as one the areas with most biological diversity in the area, located in the southwest of Costa Rica with landscapes, rivers, beaches and trails very beautiful. Uvita beach is located inside of the most splendorous beaches in the South Pacific of Costa Rica, which is located in the province of Puntarenas, Osa Bahía Ballena; and at just 16 kms from Dominical in Uvita beach you will find the Marino Ballena National Park, where you can walk along the coast until you get to the Whale’s tail in low tide or take a bath in the warm waters just waiting for the beautiful sunset and enjoy of a beautiful scenery.
